Meet Dr. Justin Chronister

Justin Chronister, M.D., is a fellowship trained ABOS board certified Orthopedic Surgeon serving Houston and surrounding communities. He is a native Houstonian, who after completing his Sports medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabamda, returned to Houston to serve the community he grew up in.

Dr. Chronister specializes in treatment of all types of sports related injuries and arthritic conditions of knee, shoulder, hip and elbow.  He focuses on joint and cartilage preservation, using the most up to date medical technology and the least invasive tissue sparing procedures possible.  His broad interests have given him the experience in treating all levels of athletes and age groups.

Dr. Chronister offers customized orthopaedic care with a focus on thoroughly educating his patients on management options and close attention through the recovery process. He works to tailor a treatment plan for each individual patient’s specific needs and goals. Conservative management is always considered first, but when not possible, his goal is to preserve or repair his patients to their pre-injury level of activity.

Dr. Chronister has privileges and is a preferred provider for multiple Houston Area hospitals including Memorial Hermann Memorial City and Greater Heights hospital, which are joint centers of excellence.  Thus giving him the ability to offer his patients a facility that is the very best for their care and convenience.

Dr. Chronister believes in continued education and research and has authored papers focusing on treatment and advanced surgical techniques for shoulder and elbow injuries in over head throwing athletes.  He has presented his research at multiple local and national Orthopaedic conferences. He also holds several national memberships including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopic Association of North America (AANA).
